Dalam rangka memperingati Hari Lingkungan Hidup Dunia yang jatuh Senin (5/6/2023) esok, Program Pascasarjana Universitas Almuslim Peusangan Bireuen (PPs Umuslim) mengadakan acara Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat, sehari sebelumnya – memanfaatkan libur akademik. Demikian penjelasan yang disampaikan Direktur PPs Umuslim Dr Cut Azizah, M.T.
“Ya, alhamdulillah, atas kesepakatan sivitas akademika di lingkungan PPs Umuslim, ketiga prodi Magister yang ada di Umuslim sepakat mengadakan aktualisasi penguatan dan implementasi keilmuan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dan kuliah umum, untuk terus meningkatkan nilai mutu akademik” ungkap Cut Azizah.
Setiap tahunnya, biasanya tepat pada tanggal 5 Juni, kami selalu menyelenggarakan peringatan Hari Lingkungan Hidup Dunia, sebagai bagian dari dunia kita yang harus terus memikirkan keseimbangan alam dan kehidupan kita, tambah Direktur Pascasarjana ini.
Seperti yang kita ketahui, PBB telah menetapkan dan selalu mengingatkan pada setiap Hari Lingkungan Hidup Se-dunia tersebut, akan pentingnya kita meningkatkan kesadaran tentang lingkungan serta mendorong perhatian dan tindakan sosial ekonomi politik untuk menjadi bagian aksi global dalam menyuarakan proteksi terhadap planet bumi, pemanfaatan Sumber Daya Alam yang berkelanjutan, dan gaya hidup yang ramah lingkungan, jelas Cut Azizah.
Kegiatan pengabdian yang terselenggara atas Kerjasama Rektorat dan PPs Umuslim serta mitra Umuslim, diantaranya Aceh Wetlands foundation, PT. Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM) dan Pemerintahan Desa Blang Mee Kuta Blang, sukses dilakukan secara kolaborasi dari ketiga program Magister di PPs Umuslim ini.
Kegiatan diikuti sekitar 240 Mahasiswa Magister pengelolaan sumberdaya alam dan lingkungan, Magister pendidikan ilmu pengetahuan sosial dan Magister Administrasi Pendidikan serta utusan dari dosen dan mahasiswa Teknik Sipil, Ilmu sosial dan politik serta dari prodi hubungan internasional.
Dari amatan beberapa awak media yang meliput kegiatan, dimulai dengan penanaman 300 pohon alam, dilanjut dengan kuliah umum tentang perkenalan kawasan “Ecoduwisata Paya Nie” ke mahasiswa. Dan diakhiri kegiatan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) tentang sekolah alam Paya Nie
Kegiatan di fokuskan di kawasan Ekoduwisata Paya Nie Kuta Blang Kabupaten Bireuen, yang merupakan rawa air tawar seluas 260 ha. Dari lokasi tersebut Kaprodi Magister SDA dan Lingkungan Umuslim berharap “Perlu peran kita semua dalam menyelamatkan bentang alam yang mengandung biodiversitas endemik, beragam flora dan fauna dengan konsep berkelanjutan. Baik berkelanjutan kepada lingkungan, ekonomi dan sosial untuk masyarakat, ungkap Dr Ernawita, M.Sc.
Hari ini, selain memperingati Hari Lingkungan Hidup Dunia, juga sekaligus kami memberikan bekal dan pengalaman kepada mahasiswa melalui kuliah alam. Baik tentang bagaimana melakukan penanaman pohon, dan mengenal Biodiversitas Paya Nie. Pungkas Ernawita.
Sementara itu juga dari prodi Magister Pendidikan IPS dan Administrasi Pendidikan, melanjutkan kegiatan melalui FGD tentang penyusunan kurikulum sekolah alam Paya Nie berbasis Ecoeduwisata dan Kuliah umum Implementasi Budaya Gotong Royong sebagai wujud nyata Profil Pancasila Masyarakat.
